Self, as of late…. I assure you I am not a robot. (2)
This happened just short of a few… hours ago. I had to do it. Of course, I was (and still am) well aware that the current weather and seasonal forecast produces some mild hostility to such a ..drastic cut; however, I had to liberate myself again, I could sense it was needed and I finally manifested what had been boiling internally for some time now. I no longer felt the emphasis or utility for any sort of ornamentation; embellishments of any sort of crown on this head was never an aim and thoughts revolving around such things grew rather tiresome. So, I buzzed it all clean off early this morning.
Funny thing to note: I considered donning a Mr. T-worthy afro-hawke, but thought I’d better go all the way as I giggled hysterically at the sight up to that point.
I think we are all star-f***ers to varying degrees. The whole celebrity thing comes out of a fear of death, which is what art has always been about. The desire to draw is fundamental to art. Connected to that is a desire to be the best drawer in the class. Then the class gets bigger and bigger and that grows into a desire to be the most famous artist in the world. You meet famous people and it makes you feel closer to being immortal in some way.
I don’t mind a picture having a story as long as the beginning and the end exist within the four edges of the canvas. A picture is only finished when it is self-sufficient. The title should not be a synopsis.
